The FedExCup Top 50 Bubble

Reaching the top 50 in the FedExCup standings is crucial, as it secures entry into all of next season's lucrative Signature Events. The drama at TPC Southwind saw significant movement:

Moving In - Sungjae Im: With a clutch T5 finish, Sungjae Im vaulted from 53rd to 40th in the standings, keeping alive his streak of reaching the BMW Championship every year since his 2019 rookie season.

Missing Out - Keith Mitchell & Jordan Spieth: Mitchell hit his approach shot on the 18th hole into the water, resulting in a bogey that left him agonizingly one spot short of the top 50.

Spieth also struggled down the stretch, making a water-bound bogey on No. 15. Despite feeling his game is "close," Spieth finished 52nd in the FedExCup, missing the top 50 for the third consecutive season.

Rory McIlroy Searches for Answers

It was a frustrating week for Rory McIlroy, who ranked a dismal 62nd out of 68 players in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green.
McIlroy lamented that while working through swing changes, he lost awareness of the target. He is now heading home for a quick fix with swing coach Michael Bannon before teeing it up at the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club.
